Cristiano Ronaldo may have broken the record for the most subscribers in a 90-minute period on YouTube, but he’ll never catch up with Mr Beast’s astronomical numbers, says Jake Paul.
With the incredible numbers only days after the channel’s launch, many were wondering whether the soccer superstar could reach 300 million followers like The Beast, but Paul told TMZ Sports on Friday that it’s not going to happen.
This isn’t a criticism of the boxer — Paul actually praised Ronaldo for hitting that number — but he just thinks Mr. Beast’s numbers are on a whole other level.
“Kudos to him,” Paul said of Ronaldo. “I expect him to post some great videos and I think it’s great to have him on this platform.”
Of course, Paul knows a thing or two about how YouTube works: He’s spent most of his life building a following on YouTube and currently has around 20 million subscribers.
Ronaldo’s numbers continue to grow, currently at over 39 million per minute, but Paul says he expects that to plateau soon.
Ronaldo probably wouldn’t mind too much: after all, he dominates the Beast on Instagram, where he has a staggering 637 million followers.
Shhh…
