YouTube shorts are getting longer. Starting October 15th, you will be able to create short videos up to 3 minutes long. This is clearly the most requested feature and it’s coming soon.
This change obviously does not affect videos uploaded before October 15th and applies to videos with an aspect ratio of square or higher. YouTube says it will also be working hard to improve recommendations for longer short videos “in the coming months.”
Templates are also available for short, and in short[リミックス]Tap[このテンプレートを使用する]You can try it out by selecting . And “in the coming months” you’ll be able to remix clips from your favorite YouTube videos, and even pull from multiple clips across YouTube.
We’ve added a new Shorts Trends page for mobile, which now shows previews of user comments in your Shorts feed.
If you hate short videos, you’ll be happy to know that YouTube is introducing an option to show fewer short videos. To select this, tap the three dots at the top right of the shorts grid in your home feed. Unfortunately, this will only temporarily reduce the number of short videos displayed, but I think it’s better than nothing.
