YouTube Premium has introduced a new “fast forward” feature that allows users to skip over ad segments and frequently skipped parts of a video.
What we know
The feature uses artificial intelligence and user data to predict which parts of a video viewers are likely to skip. Once a user clicks the “skip ahead” button, they are redirected to the next popular section of the video. The feature was initially only available to Android users in the US, but is now rolling out globally.

Not all videos will support this feature right away, as YouTube prioritizes videos with more views. The feature is intended to improve the user experience by allowing you to quickly navigate to points of interest within a video, and also serves as a promotion for YouTube Premium itself.
