YouTube has created a new AI Channel Assistant feature to help hacked users recover their accounts.
YouTube is a constant source of problems with its users being hacked. Some of the most well-known users of the platform, such as LinusTechTips, have had their accounts compromised over the last few years.
Now, YouTube is rolling out its latest AI-powered support assistant to better support creators who are worried their accounts may have been hacked or compromised.
Previously, users had no option but to restore their hacked accounts by changing their passwords or using the Google account recovery page.

Some of the site’s biggest names have used their social media followings to contact YouTube directly for a quicker resolution.
Only “Qualified Creators” are allowed at this time
This new “troubleshooter,” announced by YouTube on August 21, 2024, will provide even more support in case the worst happens.
Hidden in the YouTube Help Center, the new tool walks users through a series of questions about themselves and their channel.

According to Google’s support page for the new feature, these questions help secure access to your Google login and are central to taking back control of your channel.

Afterwards, any changes made by the hacker to the affected accounts (such as unauthorized video uploads, changes to AdSense accounts or details, etc.) will be reverted.
For now, the new tool is only available in English, and only “qualified creators” can access it in the first place, though Google hasn’t specified exactly what the required criteria are.
It’s currently only available in English, but Google is working to make it available to all creators in the future.
