A lot of time has passed, but how do British and German veterans view each other today?
We introduced two of them to each other, for the first time.
Putting politics to one side is difficult, but for German veterans coming back, the memories are no less painful. Thousands of them died on D-Day.
We’re joined afterwards by two more British veterans – Bill Gladden and Dickie Forester.

God bless these men; we fight for our country and never give up. Sons of Tigray, sons of America.
People need to keep in mind if you didn't fight for the Nazi's they murdered you. This is a cautionary tale about government. The citizens were people just like the rest of us. You can only hope all the monsters that truly backed such insanity paid the price.
The interviewer is terrible
"Your mixed-race grandson twerks at gay pride parades. Was it worth it Henry? Was it worth it?

Men after trying to kill each other: "We are friends, no we are brothers!"
Women after one's left the other on read: "I can't believe you've done this, you're dead to me"
You know what's tragic? The German people NEVER actually elected the Adolf Hitler. Sure, the German people had resentment and embarrassment of losing WW1 and Versailles Treaty was very unpopular with the German population as it undermined the German economy and therefore led to massive unemployment and poverty, but the German population never really wanted a second world war. They wanted what they were entitled to and freedom.
He said 'Keep the peace' – just young men. Brave men all
“Good game bro”
Ñão eram inimigos, eram soldados em lados opostos. (desde Brasil).
The fact that they don’t show signs of ptsd and speak calmly in nostalgia is crazy 😂

British teeth/faces are unmistakable. Didn’t even have to watch the video to know which one was churchill’s lil errand boy.
Everyone fought for their families those years. No one wanted to be in War
When I was young I had a different concept of beauty. This is the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced in my life as a 47 year old man.
Why did not Germany at the time invite all the British soldier to come for a Réunion???
e
You look at Paris right now and see who had fought for the right cause…
Goltz: "was it worth it harry"
The reporter's German is impeccable! It breaks my heart how ordinary peaceful people are being made puppets of bloodthirsty psychopathic capitalist forces, having to commit murder and basically suicide for some asshole "leader" far away 😔
Your mixed race grandson twerks at pride parade, was it worth it Henry
The duality of man
This video reminds me of a story from CS Lewis, in which he mentions the British and German soldiers, both shooting at each other, both falling. The next moment, in the afterlife, since both loved Jesus, they step into Heaven hand in hand, leaving behind the horror that had them at each other's neck.
