Matt Hardy has expressed interest in joining WWE’s Judgment Day organization.
The group, which has undergone multiple lineup changes since its formation in 2022, currently includes World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest, tag team champion Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio and Carlito. The supernatural element was quickly dropped and the group has generally found championship success, but Hardy believes there’s potential to add some outlandish sparkle.
During a question-and-answer session on his podcast, “Extreme Life,” Hardy was asked if he’d be interested in joining the group.
“Well, again, you can never say never. Who knows. The character of ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy is actually evolving. Some people have noticed that I go back and forth between the ‘Broken’ Matt voice and the more authentic Matt Hardy voice, so there is a bit of a change.”
It’s definitely evolving. I think now is the time to evolve. So, who knows what will happen. The Judgment Day is doing some cool shows, so that’s going to be fun.”
Despite the fact that Hardy is no longer part of WWE, his recent affiliation with TNA and the fact that Hardy is reportedly still a free agent make this rather unlikely scenario a possibility.
Matt Hardy talks about his past performances in AEW
Hardy is one of many wrestlers who chose not to renew their contracts in 2024 and instead explore their free agent options. Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy had previously publicly expressed their discontent, leading many to speculate that their relationship had deteriorated. In a previous podcast, Matt Hardy spoke honestly about his time in AEW and his relationship with Tony Khan.
