Iconic Toblerone is being downsized and chocolate fans are not happy.
Fans were left “heartbroken” after the popular chocolate’s distinctive look was changed.
Owner Mondelez International has reduced the size of the chocolates in the UK, resulting in larger gaps between the chocolate triangles.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the weight of chocolate bars in the UK has been reduced by about 10 percent, from 170 grams to 150 grams.
Toblerone makers are cutting the weight of chocolate blocks they sell in Britain by about 10 percent.
The new design has infuriated chocolate lovers.
Earlier this year, Toblerone underwent a redesign that resulted in the weight of the large bar being reduced from 400 grams to 360 grams.
The company said it had been forced to slim down the bar’s appearance to cut costs.
In a statement, Toblerone said it was grateful for “the passion of fans around the world.”
“Due to rising chocolate production costs, we recently announced that we would be reducing the weight of two Toblerone Bars,” the statement read.
“The 400g bar has been reduced to 360g and the 170g bar, which is only sold in the UK, is now 150g.
“Our other bars remain unchanged. We will never compromise on taste or our famous Swiss quality and we can assure you that the Toblerone recipe remains unchanged.”
The recommended bar price will remain the same.

“Has this been market tested?” Sid Jacobson asked on Facebook.
“Part of the Toblerone experience is biting into the texture and density of a solid triangle, but creating a triangular ‘hurdle’ changes that experience and makes it less desirable,” he writes.
Leah Potter felt that removing one or two triangles from the ends of the bar was the more logical choice.
“I’m sure you know that a big part of the great Toblerone experience is breaking off and sharing that chocolate triangle….who is going to stick to eating that damn flat piece?” she wrote.
Many other fans simply felt cheated.
