With 33 million small businesses in the United States and employing 46.4% of all private sector employees, entrepreneurs are the backbone of American business. But is entrepreneurship really what you’d expect? Does running a small business mean quick personal wealth? And do established entrepreneurs have it easy?
The Budgetnista’s Tiffany Alice speaks with Cabral Miller, Head of Business Growth and Operations at Elegant Eyes, about his unique journey as an entrepreneur. As both the child and the grandson of a well-established business, Miller has learned firsthand throughout his life what it takes to make a small business succeed – and what it takes to fail.
Miller argued that starting a business is not a golden ticket to success: “It takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears. I remember sleeping in the shop for days because I knew there was so much work to do, and I knew there was no one to do it. I remember not getting a paycheck for weeks or months. These are misconceptions about starting a business,” Miller explained.
