More than 650,000 pieces of counterfeit cosmetics and accessories worth a total of 23 million dirhams were seized in Ras Al Khaimah, local police said on Wednesday, and three people were arrested.
Officials said they received a letter from the Economic Development Department informing them about two warehouses being used to store counterfeit cosmetics and accessories bearing the trademarks of international brands.

Colonel Omar Al-Oued Al-Tinezi, head of the Criminal Investigation Department, said that upon receiving the letter, authorities immediately formed a special task force to monitor the warehouse for several days, during which they found suspicious loading and storage activities at the facility.
The task force was made up of the Organized Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department and the Surveillance and Commercial Protection Unit of the Ministry of Economic Development.
The warehouse was searched after obtaining the necessary permission from the prosecutor’s office and three Arabs were arrested and referred to the prosecutor’s office.
