Global car auction house RM Sotheby’s is set to hold its second Dubai auction of the world’s rarest automobiles on December 1, 2024, following a successful sale earlier this year.
The new auction will be held at Emirates Golf Club in partnership with the exciting 1000 Milia Experience UAE, and the company said it plans to announce details of early consignments in the coming weeks ahead of the December auction.
The company recorded sales worth $17 million (Dh62.4 million) in March 2024. A 2016 Koenigsegg Agera RSR was sold at auction for a record $3.38 million (Dh12.4046 million).
In March, we were introduced to some of the world’s rarest supercars, including a pre-World War II 1935 Bugatti and the 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie.
RM Sotheby’s website currently features a number of unique vehicles, including a 2000 BMW Z8, a 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, a 2016 McLaren 675 LT Spider, and a 2009 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640-4 Roadster, but the auction house plans to announce some of its early consignments for the December sale in the coming weeks.
With over 40 years in the collector car industry, RM Sotheby’s is the world’s largest collector car auction house by total sales, currently representing six of the top ten most valuable automobiles ever sold at auction.
“Our second auction in the UAE, an increasingly important market for RM Sotheby’s, will take place in Dubai during an exciting season for car enthusiasts in the region, and in a new venue as part of our partnership with the 1000 Milia Experience UAE,” said Peter Wallman, chairman UK and EMEA, RM Sotheby’s.
“We continue to grow our presence in the region and look forward to building on the success of our first auction in March with another great sale in this important market,” Mr Wallman said.
“The upcoming sale will undoubtedly add an exciting new dimension to the opening day of the 1000 Milia Experience UAE. This partnership marks another important milestone in our mission to develop and support the Middle East’s car enthusiast scene, which is renowned for its impressive growth and passion for amazing driving experiences,” said Martin Halder, founder of Octanium Group, organisers of the 1000 Milia Experience UAE.
December is fast becoming the region’s ‘car season’ with events such as the 1000 Miglia Experience, RM Sotheby’s New Sale, Cavallino Middle East and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
