A yellow warning was issued as wind speeds of up to 40 kilometres per hour were possible, coming from the northwest. Seas in the Arabian Gulf were rough, with waves occasionally reaching seven feet high offshore.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the alert will be in force from 8am today, July 28, until 8am on July 29.
Weather is expected to be fair to cloudy with occasional dust storms and cooler temperatures. Light to moderate winds at times may cause reduced horizontal visibility due to dust storms.
In the mountains temperatures can drop to 24°C and inland they can rise to 47°C.
Seas will be rough to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and occasional small to medium waves in the Oman Sea.
