Red and yellow alerts were issued across the UAE on Thursday morning due to dense fog, with rain also possible this afternoon, according to the National Meteorological Centre.
The NCM warned residents to expect poor visibility until 9 am today, with visibility worsening along the coast and inland areas.

Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to exercise caution due to poor visibility caused by fog and are urged to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

Authorities also reduced the speed limit to 80 kilometres per hour on several roads in the capital: Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed International Airport Road (Al Wahida Bridge – Al Ghuwaifat), Sweihan Road (Zayed Military City – Al Falah), Mohammed bin Rashid Road (Al Shahama Bridge – Al Falah), Maktoum bin Rashid Road (Saif Al Sedira Tunnel – Khizad) and Mohammed bin Rashid Road (Saif Al Sedira – Khizad).
Today’s weather is expected to be generally sunny with occasional clouds, with the possibility of convective clouds developing to the east.
By morning, fog and mist will develop over some coastal and inland areas, increasing humidity. Light to moderate winds will develop, sometimes gusty, raising dust.
The Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will experience calm conditions.
Temperatures are expected to drop to as low as 26°C in some parts of the UAE and reach a maximum of 49°C in inland areas.
