Sharjah [UAE]Sharjah Digital Department (SDD) has announced the launch of an updated version of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) bill payment service through its digital platform, “Digital Sharjah”.
This initiative embodies the department’s ongoing efforts to refine and evolve its platform services to ensure sustained efficiency and responsive service delivery. SDD is improving the overall user experience through continuous enhancements, adding more value and convenience with each update.
The updated service comes with a new advanced user interface designed to improve user experience. Users can easily view the outstanding amount on their accounts, whether linked to their Emirates ID or added manually. Additionally, they can view their current and past invoices, including up to 10 past invoices, as PDF documents and easily file complaints or disputes regarding those invoices.
Commenting on the move, Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Digital Authority, highlighted the authority’s commitment to ensuring comprehensive services through digital platforms designed to meet the needs of users while ensuring the highest levels of efficiency, aiming to make the digital experience more prominent, convenient and reliable for the community.
The SDD Director General also stressed that the development of SEWA’s bill payment service was based on users’ suggestions and feedback collected through multiple communication channels.
Additionally, the ministry regularly shares instruction videos in both Arabic and English on its social media accounts, guiding users through the steps to avail services on the platform.
SDD offers over 60 services from 19 government and private organisations covering key sectors in the emirate. Users can choose from a range of payment channels including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, direct debit cards, credit cards and the Tahseel digital payment system. Additionally, the platform’s mobile application can be downloaded on iOS and Android devices, giving users the flexibility to make transactions easily and securely. (ANI/WAM)
