WASHINGTON: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has welcomed a framework statement to further strengthen cooperation between the UAE and the United States in artificial intelligence and related technologies.
The common principles for cooperation on AI were endorsed today by His Highness Sheikh Thanoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor, and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at the White House, following a meeting between His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and US President Joe Biden.
The statement reflects the two countries’ shared commitment to forge deeper ties in the field of artificial intelligence, recognizing its potential to accelerate economic growth, transform education and healthcare, create jobs, and drive environmental sustainability.
As outlined in the statement, the two sides intend to work closely to promote safe, secure and trustworthy AI, align regulatory frameworks to strengthen the innovation ecosystem, foster ethical AI research and development, expand and deepen cooperation in AI protection and cybersecurity, promote trusted trade and investment opportunities, foster talent training and exchanges, promote clean energy for an AI future, and support AI for sustainable development in developing countries.
