ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has awarded the Order of Independence, First Class, to former Kenyan Ambassador to the UAE, Mr Kariuki Mugwe, to mark the end of his term as Ambassador to the UAE.
The medal was awarded in appreciation of Ambassador Mugwe’s contribution to the development and advancement of bilateral relations in various fields during his tenure.
Dr Salem Al Naqbi, UAE Ambassador to Nairobi and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme and United Nations Human Settlements Programme, presented the medal to Mugwe during a function held at the UAE Embassy in Nairobi.
During the meeting, the UAE Ambassador stressed that the UAE is keen to strengthen relations with the Republic of Kenya in all sectors.
He also wished Magway every success in his future roles and praised his role in strengthening the defining relationship between the UAE and the Republic of Kenya during his tenure.
Meanwhile, Mugwe expressed his gratitude to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and praised the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Furthermore, he expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of all UAE entities that actively contributed to the success of the mission in the country.
