ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, July 29, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The UAE Police Support Team has begun its mission to support the French Police in securing the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which was inaugurated by French President Emmael Macron on Friday. The UAE’s participation in security for what is described as the “biggest sporting event in history” underscores the country’s commitment to international cooperation and support for mega-events to ensure safety, security and stability for the global community. Members of the UAE Police team underwent extensive training ahead of their deployment to Paris, where they will assist French police in securing stadiums, access roads and assembly points for the teams and large numbers of spectators expected to attend the 2024 Olympic Games, which will attract people from all over the world.
The Police Dog Unit (K9) inspected designated areas based on thorough training and thorough area mapping. The specialized teams carried out foot patrols in different parts of Paris as part of their assigned tasks. This reflects the deep bilateral cooperation and excellent relations between the UAE and France.
The UAE’s involvement in security for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games highlights the efficiency and professionalism of UAE Police personnel under the guidance and support of the senior leadership who provide the police force with advanced equipment and world-class training to upgrade their skills in line with the highest international standards. The UAE Police Support Team is made up of experienced female police officers from the Ministry of Interior and qualified and trained professionals representing each branch of the police, the police dog unit (K9) and the security support team. Their participation will strengthen the UAE’s excellent reputation and leading role in international joint cooperation and actions.
