PARIS: The UAE National Olympic Committee has opened the UAE Olympic House in Paris to a global audience as part of the UAE’s participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The initiative aims to welcome international tourists and allow them to experience the UAE’s culture and hospitality.
Located in the heart of the French capital, UAE Olympic House offers a journey into the country’s rich heritage, innovative spirit and warm hospitality.
Visitors can explore eight themed rooms that offer unique insights into UAE culture, from traditional customs to modern aspirations. These include:
• Al Siqqa (The Beginnings) • Al Majlis (The Welcoming) • Al Liwan (The Connecting) • Al Meydan (The Action) • Al Hiwi (The Playing)
Interactive exhibits, including augmented reality experiences and stunning hand-painted murals, bring the story of the UAE to life, allowing guests to sample authentic Emirati flavours and take home cherished souvenirs.
Beyond being a cultural showcase, the UAE Olympic House will serve as a gathering place for Emiratis, residents and supporters, fostering a sense of community and pride.
Visitors can take part in three interactive augmented reality games inspired by traditional Emirati games. The space also features 18 hand-painted framed murals reflecting the heritage of UAE cities. Other highlights include Erth (Social Space), offering a taste of the UAE, and Al Dukkan (Memories Space), selling souvenirs.
UAE Olympic House has been designed as a cultural hub and meeting place for UAE citizens, residents and supporters, and to facilitate interaction with the country’s athletes.
The grand opening event was attended by an official UAE delegation led by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Olympic Committee and Deputy Ruler of Dubai, which included:
Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Vice Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State, Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Director General of the Sports Fares Directorate, and Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee.
“The UAE Olympic House is more than just a building – it is a bridge that connects cultures and increases understanding,” said Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman of the UAE NOC. “We are thrilled that through this special platform, we can share our heritage with the world and strengthen our ties with the international community.”
Noura bint Mohammed Al Kabi, Minister of State for International Affairs, highlighted the UAE’s commitment to international cooperation and cultural exchange: “By opening our doors to the world, we demonstrate our country’s belief in the power of dialogue and mutual respect. The UAE Olympic House is a symbol of our shared humanity and aspirations for a brighter future.”
Located at 46 Rue Cambon near Place de la Concorde, UAE Olympic House will be open to the public daily from 10am to 8pm from 27 July to 11 August 2024. Admission is free.
