Dubai [UAE]August 26 (ANI/WAM): The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) organised a series of training workshops to develop skills and enhance cognitive capacities of school health staff to ensure accuracy and reliability of students’ health data in support of the National Programme on Child and Adolescent Obesity Control.
The workshops, held at the Ministry of Education Headquarters in Dubai, Teacher Training Centre in Ajman and Sharjah, focused on training school nurses and physical education support staff on how to record physical measurements of students aged between five and 17 years.
The aim of the workshop is to develop standardized protocols for the collection and analysis of data related to early obesity indicators, thereby improving preventive health policies and enabling more informed decision-making based on accurate scientific evidence.
The four-day training workshop included several sub-sessions as part of the Ministry of Health’s strategy to manage prevention and community health programs, improve quality of life across the country, and ensure accurate data collection for the National Programme to Combat Child and Adolescent Obesity, as well as promote public health among community members, especially school students.
They focused on training participants to accurately and completely complete student data record forms, a necessary step to maintain high-quality data in national programs to combat child and adolescent obesity.
Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health Hussein Abdul Rahman Al Rand stressed that the training workshop is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote community health and achieve the objectives of the National Programme on Child and Adolescent Obesity Control. It is one of several initiatives aimed at equipping school health staff with the latest knowledge and skills required to provide good health care to children. (ANI/WAM)
