The UAE Ministry of Culture (MoC) held a high-level meeting with the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage to explore opportunities for collaboration between the two sides to preserve the region’s identity and heritage.
The meeting was attended by Mubarak Al Naqi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Commerce, Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi, Acting Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Heritage, and senior officials from both institutions.
During the conference, participants discussed a range of topics, including strengthening heritage-related publications and monitoring to ensure compliance with the highest quality standards, as well as strengthening cooperation between regional sectors and their key role in achieving sustainable development.
Attendees also discussed other heritage-related topics, such as setting future strategies for preservation and documentation, and promoting external participation to showcase the rich UAE heritage regionally and internationally. Representatives from both organizations shared key initiatives undertaken in enhancing culture and tangible and intangible heritage. They also identified opportunities for cooperation in contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through cultural heritage projects and initiatives.
The meeting marks a strategic step towards strengthening cooperation between the MoC and the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage to achieve common goals and safeguard the UAE’s cultural heritage, in support of efforts to ensure the preservation of the country’s heritage for future generations.
