new york [US]September 28 (ANI/WAM): The UAE delegation continued to participate in several important high-level meetings on the third day of the 79th United Nations General Assembly.
Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, participated in a high-level meeting on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), where Member States unanimously approved a political declaration on AMR. He also participated in an event on “Addressing the Challenge of AMR, Including Immigrants and Refugees.”
During the meeting, he praised the significant progress underway in tackling AMR and pledged to work closely with partners to address this global challenge.
Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy met with Catherine Russell, Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Mr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Special Envoy for Climate Change, and Mr. Abdullah Ahmed Barallah, Assistant Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (Energy and Sustainability), participated in the COP Presidency Troika event hosted by the UAE. The COP29 President and Brazil also attended.
Sheikh Salem Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, addressed the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) panel on “Promoting peaceful and inclusive societies towards sustainable development through intercultural and interreligious dialogue” Participated in the discussion.
Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, participated in the 2024 Global Adaptation Center UNGA Leaders Dialogue: Global Partnership to Double Adaptation Action.

Sheikh Shakboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, participated in a roundtable on “Accelerating investment in African markets: new objectives, partnerships and projects”.
