Dubai: The United Arab Emirates’ Dubai Air has banned passengers from carrying pagers and walkie-talkies on flights following the explosion of Hezbollah’s communications system in Lebanon.
Dubai Air said in a statement that all of its passengers are prohibited from carrying pagers or walkie-talkies, and their bags will also be checked in this regard, Reuters reported.
The statement said contraband recovered from passengers would be seized by Dubai Police as part of strict security measures.
The airline added that flights to Iraq and Iran will be suspended until Tuesday, but flights to Jordan will resume on Sunday.
Regarding flights to Lebanon, the statement said flights to Lebanon will be suspended on October 15 due to tensions between Hezbollah and Israel and the attack on Beirut airport.
