Abu Dhabi [UAE]Abu Dhabi, July 21 (ANI/WAM): The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has launched a new edition of its summer programme, which aims to help UAE students improve their skills, prepare and pursue their passions through a unique opportunity to study at 14 leading universities across 12 countries and four continents.
A total of 181 high achieving Emirati students in grades 10 and 11 from public, private and charter schools in Abu Dhabi were selected from ADEK’s enrichment programmes, including Rize UPCG, Rize Honours and sports programmes.
Selected students will explore career paths at top educational institutions in the United States, India, China, Singapore, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand and study a variety of new majors, including creative industries and design, culinary arts, education and culture, entrepreneurship, music performance and wildlife conservation.
This academic opportunity is intended to align with our ongoing goal of enhancing the skills of motivated and talented students, cultivating a global mindset, broadening their knowledge, exposing them to different cultures, and promoting their international academic and personal growth. Students who participate in this program have a higher chance of being accepted into the Abu Dhabi Scholarship Program.
The expanded list of universities includes four of the world’s top universities, including Harvard University, Stanford University, University of California, Berkeley, and the National University of Singapore (NUS).
ADEK Undersecretary Mubarak Hamad Al Mehili said: “Following the success of last year’s program, this expansion in terms of number of students, participating countries, universities and programs underscores our commitment to nurturing even more talented and motivated students, and empowering them to expand their knowledge beyond the classroom.”
“ADEK summer programme students are encouraged to pursue higher education at top internationally recognised universities and discover their passions, which will also equip them with the skills they need for the future in key growth sectors in the Emirates and globally.”
To ensure students are prepared for their study abroad journey, ADEK will host comprehensive pre-departure orientation sessions for each student group traveling to their respective overseas universities.
The session is designed to provide students with a wide range of knowledge to help them embark on their international academic journey and maximise their chances of success. (ANI/WAM)
