The New England Patriots ended their three-game preseason run with a 20-10 loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday night.
There were some positives from Sunday’s game, including a performance from quarterback Drake Maye, who completed 13 of 20 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown on the night.
Running back Kevin Harris was the receiver for the touchdown, catching a short pass and running up the field for an 18-yard touchdown. Poor play from the offensive line was the talking point of the night. New England is still trying different combinations to find the best starting five for its offense.
One thing is certain: the Patriots still have work to do in that area before they open the season against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Patriots Twitter was not pleased with New England’s performance on Sunday night. Criticisms ranged from the play of the offensive line to disappointment in the entire season going forward. Below are some of the best criticisms from the night.
McSorley is dominating the Patriots linebackers 😂. I don’t care if he’s not the starter, it says a lot about who’s on their roster and it’s going to be a long year in New England 😂

I kept getting excited about the game and forgot it was still preseason, but when they were supposedly playing, it was like the old New England Patriots and it got me excited.

Send the O-line towards the sun

Maybe they should have spent more on the offensive line. Too many penalties.

There are 241 days, 20 hours, 38 minutes and 59 seconds left until the 2025 NFL Draft. That’s a long time…

Drake May is a franchise, but everything else is scary

Despite having the most cap space in the entire NFL for the past few years, we have the worst offensive line in the league and can’t acquire anyone.

Honestly, I thought Belichick was the reason the offensive line sucked, but it really needs to improve.

Yes, don’t let Maye play behind this O-line.

Sorry, but we’re no good. Our offensive line is no good. Our defense is no good. We’re going to have a 1-16 season.

Belichick should never have been left alone.

Whether it’s going to be a long season or a short season depends on how you look at it.

It got me thinking about what I could do with the first overall pick.
