Halle Bailey and DDG may have ended their romance, but there’s no shortage of love.
DDG released an emotional statement on social media on Thursday, confirming that he and The Little Mermaid star have broken up.
“After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways,” the rapper wrote on his Instagram Story. “This decision was not easy, but I believe it is the best move forward for both of us. I cherish the time we spent together and the love we shared.”
According to People magazine, Bayley and DDG (real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) dated in March 2022, when the “I’m Geekin'” rapper posted a romantic tribute on Instagram for Bayley’s 22nd birthday. Their relationship became public after they shared it on the gram. The two met through social media after DDG messaged Bayley online, the Chloe x Halle singer revealed in an interview with Essence magazine in August 2022.

The former couple welcomed their first child, son Halo, in December 2023.
“While there have been changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true,” DDG continued. “We are still best friends and respect each other. We cherish the bond we built and the beautiful moments we shared while focusing on our respective life journeys and our roles as co-parents.” Masu.”

Bailey opened up about her relationship with DDG and its impact on her personal growth in a May 2023 interview with People magazine.
“The best thing about young love is that you continue to find yourself through this journey of loving someone,” Bailey told the magazine at the time. “I feel like things change when love becomes more involved in life.”

Later that year, the couple paid homage to iconic pop culture couples for Halloween, including R&B icons Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, and Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur’s “Poetic Justice” roles. It expresses his playful side and takes advantage of his playful side.
“I definitely discovered so much more within myself as a woman,” Bailey added to People. “It’s a really cool, transformative experience to go through this.”
