JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. – A foundation established in memory of a Whitehall teen who was murdered more than a year ago is working to inspire and support future athletes.
It’s been more than a year since Whitehall High School senior Benjamin Reddix was shot and killed. His mother, Shaneisha Robinson, said Reddix loved sports and his family.
“My dad ran track and triple jump and played football. When he wasn’t doing those things he was hanging out with me and my brothers,” Robinson said.

To honor him and continue his goal of one day becoming a coach, his family created the Benjamen Reddicks Project.
“Our goal is to support Jefferson County student-athletes and their families,” Robinson said.
They will be hosting the first free BRP camp for kids, teaching them skills that will help them on and off the field.
Robinson said Reddix worked hard every day toward his goals, which led to him earning a full scholarship to Southern Arkansas University. The group hopes to continue what Reddix started and focus on the youth of Jefferson County.
“We plan to grow and keep his legacy and his name alive and help other student-athletes achieve their goals,” Robinson said.
