New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader Buba Galadima has said that some appointees of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are more interested in personal gain than serving the country.
Galadima said this in an interview with Channels TV’s Politics Today, adding that he was disappointed in President Tinubu.
He said he expected the president to lead a team of experts to address the problems facing the country.
Mr. Galadima noted that Mr. Tinubu’s tenure had its ups and downs, saying that there were elements that pointed in the right direction and others that took him in the wrong direction.
When asked if he was disappointed with Tinubu, Galadima said: I knew he was coming with a team that knew all the dots and dots, so I expected him to give it his all. He should be told that some of his appointees are more interested in lining their own pockets than providing services.
“If something bad happens, the person who appointed him should be held responsible. There was also a minister who was suspended on suspicion. The next time the matter was decided, the president should dismiss that minister. What stopped it? How many months has it been now? It’s still hanging.”
Galadima maintained that the federal government was at war with the Kano state government.
He further added, “The Federal Government has been fighting us in Kano. There is no cooperation. Only God will save Kano from catastrophe. But for the Federal Government of Nigeria, Kano should go up in flames. They has taken over the judiciary.
“The president said we have to hold local government elections to be eligible for local government funding. They are now out there to prevent us from holding local government elections. I am going.”
