BRATTLEBORO — National touring company Silk Ass is excited to bring its newest show, “Silk Ass Stories,” to the New England Circus Arts Center on Oct. 6 at 3 p.m.

Doug Stewart, the company’s founder and a graduate of NECCA’s professional training program, said: “‘Silk Us Stories’ is a carefully curated new show that turns the page on our theater company’s favorite stories to deliver moving and thrilling stories about community and society.” Identity. “Weaving together a collection of folk tales, classic literature, fairy tales, contemporary novels, and more, this show twists, turns, rewrites, and retells stories drawn by mischievous, acrobatic characters from the page. The show features aerialists, jugglers, acrobats, acrobats, clowns and more, all ready to fly off the shelves. Performers may also take time to discuss their books before the show or hand out their favorite books to the audience.
“It’s great to have this company back at NECCA,” says Producer Director Serenity Smith Forchion. “In 2018, Cirque Us participated in a residency at NECCA through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. We are excited to be back as an American circus company.”
The 2024 “Cirque Us Stories” troupe includes several NECCA alumni. Composer and aerialist Maeve Beck grew up first in NECCA’s youth performance group and then in the professional training program. It was while at NECCA that she met her aerial hoop partner, Maia Castro-Santos. “Story” features current NECCA ProTrack student Esther Van De Lagemaat performing acrobatic trick ropes.
