During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan said the UAE Armed Forces are performing an exemplary role with their high efficiency and strong capabilities.
Sheikh Hamdan’s recent appointment as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the UAE was approved by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
“I am honoured to be associated with this ministry established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whose vision has guided the ministry’s success over the decades,” Hamdan said during a meeting with senior officials from the ministry and the UAE Armed Forces.
“Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to set a global example in institutional strength and efficiency. We remain committed to our mission to protect and enhance the nation’s achievements and realize the aspirations of our leadership,” Sheikh Hamdan said.
He added, “Protecting the Union and its unity is a sacred duty and I am honoured to serve in this role. I am deeply grateful for all the contributions that have made a significant impact on our efforts to defend our homeland.”
Addressing commanders and officers from the Ministry of Defense and the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Hamdan said: “Today, I stand before you as part of this team. My goals are aligned with yours and our shared ambition is to realise the aspirations of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. I am proud to join this team and contribute to the defence of our country.”
Sheikh Hamdan was received at the Ministry of Defense by Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, Lieutenant General Isa bin Abran Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Major General Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoon bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Defense, as well as senior commanders and officers from the Ministry of Defense and the UAE Armed Forces.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed was briefed in detail on the Ministry’s activities, key initiatives and efforts to address various challenges, as well as the main responsibilities of the Joint Operations Command in supporting the UAE’s national objectives and comprehensive development journey.
