Sheffield Wednesday are set to make further signings before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
The Owls have already welcomed 10 new members to the club and were delighted with their contributions in the weekend’s win over Plymouth Argyle.
Sheffield Wednesday played very attackingly at home, with new midfielder Svante Ingelsson in particular putting in a “superb” performance.
Nathaniel Chalobah was not in the matchday squad, leaving the Owls vulnerable in some defensive areas.
That didn’t matter given Plymouth’s lack of threat, but manager Danny Rohr recognises this as a weakness and is likely considering adding another defensive midfielder to his squad.

Sheffield Wednesday ‘interested’ in Brighton new man
According to Express journalist Charlie Parker-Turner, Wednesday are “interested” in signing Malik Yarkouye on loan.
He wrote on X: “We’ve heard Malick Yarkouye is set to join on loan from #BHAFC. The midfielder performed well in pre-season but the decision has been made to spend the coming season elsewhere. Luton Town, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday are interested.”

The 18-year-old moved to Brighton & Hove Albion from Swedish club IFK Gothenburg last month and made 11 appearances in the Allsvenskan last season.
He had previously attracted interest from clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool and Southampton but opted for the move to the Amex Stadium.
According to The Athletic, Yarkouille can operate as a number six or eight, is good on the ball and likes to get forward.
Brighton manager Fabian Haseler said of the midfielder: “He’s a talented midfielder and has great potential to develop into a top-class player.”
“He is excited about the next stage of his career and we look forward to supporting his development.”
Yarkouye was initially expected to be in line to be included in the squad for the Brighton game but it looks like he will instead be given regular appearances elsewhere.
Can Malick Yarkoui overtake Nathaniel Chalobah?
His potential is very exciting for Rohr and could give him an extra option in midfield, especially if Chalobah struggles with fitness.
The likes of Ingelson and Barry Bannan are likely to feature at the top of the team sheet this term, but their final positions are certainly still to be determined.
If the Seagulls see Wednesday’s performance over the weekend, they may be interested in moving some of their new recruits to Hillsborough to further develop them.
This certainly looks like an exciting challenge for the Owls, but they face competition from clubs who will undoubtedly be promotion contenders and could give Yarkouwe valuable experience at the top of the Championship.
