Sharjah [UAE]Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) has announced the final list of nominees for the Sharjah Government Communication Awards (SGCA 2024). 46 candidates from 12 countries competed for 22 awards across five main categories. The announcement comes after the number of applications reached a record high of 3,815, a 230 percent increase on last year. The 11th edition of the SGCA saw 1,129 applications from 44 countries.
The shortlisted submissions competed for nine awards for government agencies, international organizations and the private sector, four Individual Awards, two Challenge and Competition Awards, four Jury Awards and three Partner Awards, and were selected by an SGCA senior committee made up of experts from various fields of media and communications. The winners will be announced at the Sharjah Government Communication Awards Ceremony to be held at Expo Centre Sharjah on 5 September.
The final list included candidates from 12 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Nigeria, Singapore, Australia and the United Kingdom.
This year’s submissions stood out for their exceptional strength, with the projects and initiatives presented demonstrating exceptional quality and innovation. Particular emphasis was placed throughout the submissions on the contribution of the private sector in communication and its practice. The Prize has expanded globally, attracting submissions from a large number of countries for the first time, highlighting its wide appeal and inclusiveness.
Since its inception, SGCA has strengthened its position as a global platform celebrating creativity and excellence in government communication. It aims to inspire and advance the sector while supporting sustainable development through effective communication. (ANI/WAM)
