Andrew Nembard is one of the most intriguing players on the Indiana Pacers.
He appeared in 68 games last season and averaged 9.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 49.8 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from three-point range.
Earlier this week, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Nembard would sign a contract extension with Indiana.
July 24th, via Wojnarowski: “Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembard agreed to a three-year, $59 million contract extension. Follow “This contract is the maximum that can be made in that time frame for one of the breakout players in the 2024 NBA playoffs,” he told ESPN.

Following the news, Jake Fisher of Yahoo Sports reported that the San Antonio Spurs were a team interested in signing Nembard.
From Fisher’s article on Yahoo Sports: “The Spurs will be one of the teams closely monitoring Nembard’s future after San Antonio expressed interest in trading for him this offseason, sources said.”

Nembard was the 31st pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and spent two seasons with the Pacers.
In the 2024 playoffs, he appeared in 17 games and averaged 14.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game while shooting 56.0% from the field and 48.3% from three-point range.
The Pacers lost to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Spurs finished the 2023-24 season with a 22-60 record, ranking 14th in the Western Conference.
They missed the NBA playoffs for five consecutive seasons.
