BRILLIANT REPORTING – Interesting angle on the nasty erosion of our social housing – on 25th April I was part of Reclaim Brixton The big fuss about a broken window! ONE significant point seems to have been missed – well maybe it has been made elsewhere – To my knowledge this was the ONLY business 'damaged' ( it was only a sheet of glass! ) – an ESTATE AGENTS window SMASHED – and it all kicked off down the high street near the railway bridge – this was all a reaction to how Brixton more than anywhere right now in London is being shat on my a sewage works – I sensed yesterday for the first time – that if anything BIG is going to 'kick off' over the social housing crisis it will be here – so far the evidence is that we have yet to win ANY housing eviction campaigns ( please share here if there have been ANY success stories! ) – This is now a powder keg waiting to go off – I really sense it now – a strong msge needs to be sent to Politicians – Councils and those FACELESS FAT CAT DEVELOPERS.
'WE CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE – UNITY THROUGH DIVERSITY – SOS SAVE THE SPIRIT OF SOHO – SAVE THE YARD BAR – WE ARE THE BLACK CAP FIGHT BACK – SAVE THE RVT – SAVE THE JOINERS ARMS – SAVE OUR LONDON SOCIAL VENUES – SAVE OUR COMMUNITY – BLACK COMMUNITIES MATTER – RECLAIM BRIXTON – SAVE BRIXTON ARCHES – CAMDEN RESISTS – SAVE OUR LONDON SOCIAL HOUSING – OCCUPY LONDON – JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST MASS GENTRIFICATION – WE WON'T TAKE ANYMORE.'
i thought land was held in trust for the british people.
then again who can you trust…
All the council houses and flats are sold to rich people and they turn them to expensive properties which middle class and poor people can't afford to buy.
