Spoiler alert: If you haven’t seen “Deadpool & Wolverine” yet, stop reading now!
Seriously, stop reading right now! Oh well, I warned you.
Deadpool & Wolverine is packed with crowd-pleasing cameos and returning characters, and don’t worry, we won’t spoil them all here, but there is one cameo worth noting.

The film sees Wade Wilson/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Logan/Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) travelling through the multiverse in an attempt to save the world. Along the way, the unlikely partners end up in The Void, Marvel’s island of misfit toys where forgotten film characters are sent. Among the many fantastic returnees we’re treated to is the OG Daywalker himself, Wesley Snipes, as Blade.
Yes! Marvel Studios may be unsure of what to do with Blade, but the original vampire hunter is back in action like no time has passed. As he helps Wade and Logan find their way home, Snipes mows down bad guys like it’s 1998 all over again.
He even has time to poke a little fun at the cursed reboot: When the Punisher is mentioned, Wade wonders who they’re talking about, and the Daywalker proudly proclaims that there has been and there will always be only one Blade.
While I’d love to see Mahershala Ali play Blade one day, it feels like Snipes has to be a part of the project given the impact he had here — Jackman has played so many Wolverine variants, there’s definitely room for two Blades.

On Thursday, Snipes appeared at the Ultimate Deadpool & Wolverine Celebration of Life panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where he posted a video of himself with the cast, including Reynolds, Jackman and other big-name guest stars. Fans on social media seem extremely intrigued that he could return to the role and possibly return to the Blade series.
One user felt a strong connection to the character, writing to X, “The OG Blade that no one can ever take away from me or my childhood!!”
Another person said there was no reason Snipes couldn’t return full-time, writing, “My brother was the best and he showed it with all his heart. There is only one Blade. If Hugh Jackman is coming back there is no reason Wesley can’t return.”
One fan acknowledged how groundbreaking the original film was, writing to X, “You were the beginning. Without you there would be no MCU.”
While solving the “Blade” problem has been extremely difficult for Marvel, it seems the answers fans were looking for have been right in front of them all along.
Deadpool & Wolverine is in theaters now.
