Raayan: Is this Dhanush-starrer action drama a hit or miss?
While most of the audience was pleased with the film, a few walked out of the theatres disappointed. Social media has been buzzing with movie buffs praising Dhanush’s performance and the director’s vision for the film.
Impressed by the actor’s performance as Kubera, one X user wrote, “#Raayan what a modern gangster drama masterpiece. I thought only Vetrimaran could do something like this but Boy D Anna has done the magic. Don’t miss it, watch it in theatres. Blockbuster and best of luck to my husband.”
People seem to be enthralled with the story, screenplay, action scenes and performances of all the actors in the film. However, few have complained that the story was very mediocre, but Dhanush’s performance made the film bearable.

Raayan is a Tamil film written and directed by Dhanush that features high-octane action sequences. Besides directing, the actor also plays the lead in the action-drama.
Apart from Dhanush, Raayan also features some fine actors like SJ Surya, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Sandeep Kishan, Varalakshmi Sathakumar, Kalidas Jayaram, Dussehra Vijayan and Aparna Balamurali in important roles.
The film is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. Legendary music composer AR Rahman has scored the songs.
It is also pertinent to mention that ‘Raayan’ marks Dhanush’s 50th film as an actor and his second directorial venture after ‘Pa Pandi’.
The film tells the story of a simple man named Rayan from North Chennai, who decides to avenge the death of his family and ventures into the dangerous world of organised crime syndicates to find the culprits.
