Umm Al Quwain, UAE – Qemtex Chemical Holding has opened a new powder coatings manufacturing facility in the UAE. Located in Umm Al Quwain, the factory will be one of the largest in the region.
Qemtex Chemical Holding today announced the opening of a new powder coatings factory in the UAE. Located in Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone, the facility produces a wide range of architectural, industrial and specialty powder coatings products.
The capacity expansion will be carried out in two phases, with an initial annual production volume of 5,000 tonnes, increasing to 10,000 tonnes in the second phase. Qemtex plans to allocate at least 30 percent of its production to the UAE domestic market, and the remaining 70 percent for export to GCC, MENA, EU and US markets.
Group CEO Alexander Glukhov said: “We have assembled a strong international team of experts from 12 countries with 30 years of industry experience, which will enable us to develop innovative and environmentally friendly solutions for our customers around the world.”
The company has invested $16 million in a production facility and state-of-the-art research and development center that aims to become one of the top three powder coatings research facilities in the region.
Experts predict that the global powder coatings market will grow by 5.5% annually until 2029, creating favorable conditions for the company’s ambitious plans. “With global demand for powder coatings growing, our new UAE plant is just the first step in Qemtex’s international strategic development program to become a top 10 producer in the world,” said Zandos Temirgalli, chairman of the board of directors.
