Phil’s Cast Away on Channel 5 is his first TV appearance since leaving This Morning.
In this new show, Phil is isolated on an island in Madagascar, where he faces the challenge of survival while reflecting on his recent public scandal.
The program appears to be an attempt to repair his reputation, positioning Phil as someone trying to survive both his physical environment and the backlash from his personal controversy.
Phil has since posted photos of himself on the island to X.

He captioned the post: “Back to X for a moment. I’m so proud of these shows. ‘Cast Away’ is now streaming on My5.”
One user wrote: ‘The person who advised you to try a gentle comeback should be fired.
“You made more money in your career than most of us make in a lifetime, and with that comes responsibility, and you abused it. There’s no coming back from that.”
Meanwhile, another added: “So sad to see you so incredibly fame hungry and wanting to be in the spotlight again. You don’t deserve that.”
A third sentence read: “You can leave again or close the door on your way out.”
Some fans showed their support for the former This Morning host, with one commenting: “It was so much fun to watch every night. You did such a great job. I don’t think I could have gotten through this on my own. !โ one person wrote.
Phillip Schofield claims another TV presenter had a secret age difference affair
“Please ignore those who hate Philip. Everyone makes mistakes in life, but not everyone has to carry the world on their shoulders when they fail! May you and your family live in peace. I hope.โ
Meanwhile, another wrote: “So happy to see you Phil. I hope you come back for good.”
After returning from filming Cast Away, Phil shared another video of the moment he was reunited with his beloved dog.
He captioned the post: “Three weeks apart… Welcome Alfie. ‘Cast Away’ is available to stream on My5.”
In Cast Away, Phil said he was fired from ITV because of the notoriety caused by his pedophile brother’s crimes.
He said, “I came clean about my infidelity. What people don’t realize is that I didn’t get fired from ‘This Morning’ just because I admitted I lied…It’s not like I was fired from ‘This Morning’… It was because of someone I once called my brother.”
This contradicts a story created around the time of his resignation last May, which suggested he resigned after confessing to an affair with a younger runner.
Throughout the series, he breaks down in tears as he talks about discovering new things about himself in the wake of the scandal.
However, the scene proved too much for viewers at home, as they flooded social media for comments.
One wrote: “Not for a second did I see #PhilipSchofield’s disgustingly desperate attempt to garner sympathy for being the wrong UN. Doing the same thing he did and essentially “Imagine having a video diary of his defense aired on TV. I wonder if his narcissism is being pandered to.” is tough. โ
A second person was furious, saying, “I can’t believe the TV station gave this guy another chance to shine.”
