New England Patriots fans were already angry before Thursday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles began. One look at their top-tier offensive line unit sent fans into full-on panic mode.
Center David Andrews and right guard Mike Onwenu were fine.
The problem for most Patriots fans was the return of Bederian Rowe at left tackle, and right tackle Chukwuma Okorafor also didn’t get a warm welcome given his struggles in recent weeks.
Sidi Sow continues at left guard in place of injured offensive lineman Cole Strange.

Struggles in the tackle department proved to be a real issue for the Patriots in Tuesday’s scrimmage against the Eagles, as the Patriots were outplayed up front by an Eagles defensive line that looked far superior to the Patriots’ defensive line.
Here’s what fans on social media were saying about the lineup:
Onwenu at tackle makes too much sense. What is going on there? Mayo is making the same mistake as Belichick.

The offseason talk of left tackle has been extremely disappointing and frustrating with VD being the left tackle.

That’s terrible. They have $50 million in cap space…

Oh, what do they see in Lowe?

Every time Vedrian Rowe’s name appears in the same sentence as “Top Office Lady,” I can’t help but pinch myself.

Why not Wallace? Also, Doug, do you think there’s a slight chance you could kick Strange out to left tackle and see what works?

I’m generally rooting for success, but part of me hopes they beat Lowe and the coaching staff realizes it won’t work with him there.
