Scotland continues to struggle with the highest rate of drug-related deaths in Europe.
Data from National Records of Scotland (NRS) showed there were a total of 1,172 deaths due to drug misuse in 2023 – a rise of 121 (12%) on the previous year.
The record high was in 2020, when 1,339 people died.

1,172 in one year….just in Scotland…..that's horrific.
To the UK government, get these people good jobs and homes and give them some dignity. They are human beings too.
Maybe because the Scottish government registered the drugs deaths differently from the rest of the country, they account for suicides, medical overdoes etc something the media fail to mention. Its all lies.
