The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada is one of the most unique and unusual venues on the planet, and the most expensive venue built in Las Vegas. Since opening last September, it has hosted several music and entertainment events, but has never hosted a professional wrestling show.
A report from Fightful Select said several wrestling organizations may be interested in operating The Sphere: After speaking with venue officials, Fightful has inquired about hosting a wrestling show at The Sphere, but was told it won’t happen until at least 2025.
As for the possibility of AEW running The Sphere, it’s unclear if they want to head there specifically, but there has been talk of Double or Nothing 2025 taking place at “another venue” in Las Vegas. Next year’s WrestleMania 41 will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, so it’s unclear if AEW will return there for Double or Nothing next year.
Nothing has been decided regarding concrete plans, and interest so far has remained at the inquiry level.
