On Tuesday, National Geographic announced that it has evolved its digital footprint by adding several channels to its social media channels, including YouTube: National Geographic has added a fourth YouTube channel, “Nat Geo en Español.”
Nat Geo en Español provides Spanish-speaking subscribers with access to National Geographic’s award-winning content. The new channel will eventually deliver more than 200 hours of National Geographic culture, wildlife and history content. Since July 10, Nat Geo en Español has reached 10.2 million views, 3.4 million watch hours and 46,000 subscribers.
The new Nat Geo en Español joins Nat Geo WILD and Nat Geo Kids as National Geographic’s flagship YouTube pages, with the four channels having a combined total of more than 29 million subscribers.
“Expanding our presence on YouTube and launching a dedicated Spanish-language channel is the latest example of how the National Geographic brand is growing engagement and awareness in the social space,” said Turani Andrés, vice president of social media for National Geographic. “Our new YouTube Originals, featuring young, diverse talent from around the world, are also an important next step in this process. This launch is just the beginning of exciting things to come over the rest of the year.”

In addition to National Geographic Spanish, National Geographic on YouTube is also launching a new series of original series. “Azza and Zoc Do Earth,” which premiered on August 6, stars Aaron “Azza” Grist and Luke “Zoc” Zocchi as travelers searching for the secret to living a better, longer life. The duo co-starred alongside Chris Hemsworth in the Disney+ original series “Limitless.”
“The Crooks,” another new series from National Geographic, will feature the world’s top climbers as they prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Behind-the-scenes footage gives viewers a look inside the minds of climbers as they compete on the world’s highest stage. Climbers featured include Orianne Bertone, Toby Roberts, Janja Garnbret, Alanna Yip and Zhenya Kazbekova. The first two episodes premiered last week, with the next two following on August 29.
Another series in development is “Superskilled with Eva zu Beck,” which premieres this fall and follows adventurer and YouTube storyteller Eva zu Beck as she travels the world looking for people with incredible skills that push the limits of the human mind and body.
