Musk’s conversation with Trump included some of Trump’s classic lines.
Elon Musk’s conversation with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was delayed by more than 40 minutes on Musk’s social media platform, X, after technical issues prevented users from joining the event.
Musk blamed the delays on a distributed denial-of-service attack, or DDoS, which is an attempt to intentionally shut down a computer system by flooding it with traffic, though his claim of a cyberattack has not yet been verified.
According to X-Counter, more than 2 million users visited Trump’s space, and the interview lasted more than two hours.
The conversation was freewheeling, with frequent shifts in topic, and the former president stuck to his usual script, mixing his grievances (about the various criminal and civil charges he faces), assertions of his success as president (and his promise of a perfect America if he wins), and personal attacks on President Joe Biden and his rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.
There was much mutual praise during the conversation, with Trump telling Musk, “You’re the best cutter out there. I can tell by the way you work. You come in and you just say, ‘You want to quit?’ And then they start striking… and you say, ‘All right, you’re all out.'”
Musk, who has supported Trump’s candidacy, was equally passionate, saying the country is at a crossroads and that Trump is “the right way.”
