Ant and Dec’s indie studio Mitre Studios has promoted Gemma Nightingale to head of entertainment.
In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the development and distribution of Mitre Studios entertainment shows on television, with projects currently in production and he will also play a key role in Mitre Studios’ branded entertainment content as Executive Producer for all branded output.
Nightingale has worked on a number of hit primetime entertainment shows including “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here”, “Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway”, “The Royal Variety Performance”, “Limitless Win” and “Stars In Their Eyes”, as well as delivering multi-platform branded content such as Santander’s award-winning “Bank of AntanDec” and TUI’s “Happiness Ambassadors” campaigns.
Ed Sleeman, managing director of Mitre Studios, said: “Gemma has played a key role in all of Ant and Dec’s entertainment shows for over 10 years and also has a great development mind, so there is no one more suited than her to lead this division of Mitre Studios, so we’re thrilled to be promoting Gemma to Head of Entertainment.”
Gemma Nightingale said: “I couldn’t be more pleased to take up my new role as Head of Entertainment at Mitre Studios, particularly at such an exciting time for the company.
“The industry continues to evolve at an incredible speed, but I believe we should never underestimate the value that entertainment brings to people’s lives. Ant and Dec’s passion for conceiving and producing vibrant, fun and ambitious content makes me hugely excited to lead a division with this vision at its core and I can’t wait to continue the adventure!”
