Actor Michael Madsen, known for his roles in Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, has been arrested on suspicion of assault following a “disagreement” with his wife, Deanna Madsen.
“On August 17, 2024, at approximately 12:15 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the scene of a domestic disturbance in the 31600 block of Broad Beach Road in Malibu. The caller stated that an adult female had been pushed by her husband and locked out of her residence,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release shared with Entertainment Weekly.
“Based on the initial investigation, officers determined that Michael Madsen was involved in a domestic incident involving his wife. Mr. Madsen was arrested for the misdemeanor of Spousal Assault (a violation of Penal Code Section 243(e)(1)). He was transported to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station where a warrant was filed for his arrest.”
The statement continued, “The investigation is ongoing and will be presented in Van Nuys Superior Court.”

Madsen’s bail has since been posted. “Michael is at home,” a rep for Madsen confirmed to EW.
The Chicago-born actor is best known for his work with Quentin Tarantino, first appearing in Tarantino’s 1992 debut Reservoir Dogs as the lithe, unpredictable criminal Mr. Blonde, before returning as Bud, the assassin who attacks Uma Thurman’s bride in Kill Bill Vol. 1 and falls at her hands in Kill Bill Vol. 2. He also appeared in The Hateful Eight and Tarantino’s latest film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Madsen has appeared in over 300 films since his first acting role in 1982. In addition to Tarantino’s work, his other credits include Thelma & Louise, Die Another Day, Species and Boarding Gate.
He married Deanna Morgan in 1996, and the couple have three sons, Luke, Calvin, and Hudson, but Hudson committed suicide in 2022.
Madsen will soon be seen in the gangster thriller “Blood Behind Us,” from directors Brendan Gabriel Murphy (“Flux”) and Sean Hart (“The Fall”), as well as the historical thriller “Resurrection Road,” from director Ashley Cahill (“Random Acts of Violence”).
