Marlon Wayans has put an end to his mild exchange with DJ Vlad after the two were feuding on social media for two days. He dropped the mic on Sunday (August 18) when he tweeted that it was game over along with Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”
Earlier that morning, Wayans posted a series of tweets poking fun at the Vlad TV creator’s hairstyle change. His jokes included comparing before-and-after photos of Medea to a scene from Michael Jackson’s music video “Black or White,” and saying his own facial hair looked like it had been ripped off an animal that had been run over in the road.
But the multi-talented entertainer got serious when he wrote, “DJ Vlad this is the moment you’ve been waiting for all your life. I told you to leave me alone. Leave me alone. But you wanna kick the beehive. You can’t compete with me, brother. I [A] Legend. And sometimes I get off my throne [peons] “Like you. Keep going. There are levels to this shit,” he said, also declaring that cyber enemies are “hated by urban society,” and[You] Are you angry that you can’t use me?”
The Ukrainian-American businessman was unfazed by the criticism, and in his rebuttal he suggested Wayans is a member of the LGBTQ+ community and should take his on-screen talents to the adult content industry.
While the veteran comedian joked, he also pointed out that Vladimir’s tactics are “exploiting black people and attacking gay people.” The New York native is an open supporter of the gay community and has revealed that he is the proud father of two children, one of whom identifies as transgender.
The acrimonious exchange began on Friday (August 16) when fans of the comedian learned that Vlad had interviewed former “Mad TV” cast member Aries Spears. Midway through the conversation, the interviewer revealed that Wayans would be paid $40,000 to do the interview on the controversial VladTV platform, plus 30 percent of the residual revenue generated by the lengthy discussion, which is supposedly spliced into multiple interminable videos.
Terms were ultimately not agreed upon, and the comic has yet to appear on his YouTube channel. When one of the Bel-Air actor’s supporters tweeted that he should have asked for more, Wayans lightly replied, “Look, I was trying to tell him I was going to make him a deal…oh well.” From there, Vlad called the Respect standout actor “delusional.”
