Luke Bryan thinks there was one way he could have helped Beyoncé earn a Country Music Association Award nomination.

Calling the CMA controversy a “difficult” topic to address, Bryan first told Cohen that no one, no matter how major a star, should feel entitled to the honor.

Luke Bryan appeared on “The Tonight Show” on October 2nd. In an interview on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live” earlier this week, Beyoncé addressed the controversy surrounding her not being nominated for a CMA Award.
“Everyone loved that Beyoncé made a country album,” the “Play It Again” singer told Cohen. “Nobody’s mad about it.”
However, Brian went on to suggest that the “Texas Hold’em” superstar could have done more to connect with Nashville’s music scene.
“But where things get a little tricky is…if you’re going to make a country album, come into our world and be a little bit country with us,” the “American Idol” judge said. .
“Beyoncé can do exactly what she wants. She’s probably the biggest star in music,” he continued. “But please come to the awards ceremony and high-five. And have fun and join the family.”
Beyoncé will receive the Innovator Award at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards in April. The superstar has opened up about how her country album was actually inspired by feeling unwelcome in the Nashville scene.

Brian said he wasn’t making any accusations, just expressing his opinion as an industry veteran.
“I’m not saying she wouldn’t have done that,” he told Cohen. “But country music is about family. We’re mad at each other, too.”
Beyoncé has spoken candidly about feeling alienated from Nashville in the past.
Before releasing Cowboy Carter in March of this year, she said the album was “born out of an experience I had many years ago where I felt unwelcome…and that I wasn’t welcomed.” It was clear,” he told fans.
