Lincoln Riley made waves at Big Ten Media Day when he spoke about how USC thought about the LSU game and how much effort was actually put into dropping the game. There’s audio and video in the tweet below, but before you watch the video (if you haven’t already), let me state the obvious first. I can imagine LSU fans are going to be ecstatic about this. More specifically, LSU fans are going to be skeptical of anything Lincoln Riley has to say. Riley’s words just don’t resonate or hold water with anyone outside of USC. That’s what happens when a coach is coming off a five-loss season with Caleb Williams as their starting quarterback.
The feeling of a “feeding frenzy” for USC football is real. There’s a feeling that there’s blood in the water. It’s up to the Trojans to really change the conversation, and the LSU game is their first big chance to do something about it. Below is a clip of Riley commenting on the LSU game:
I asked Lincoln Riley if reports that USC was looking to reschedule their game against LSU were accurate.
I said no.
“I think both teams have looked into it because, like us, there have been changes in their conferences and it’s not the same as when they scheduled the games.” pic.twitter.com/x3g9wtEIC2
