Liverpool are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz.
The 21-year-old Germany midfielder has established himself as one of the best young footballers in the world and had an outstanding season for the Bundesliga side. Wirtz played a key role in Leverkusen winning the German league title last year, scoring 18 goals and providing 20 assists in all competitions.
His performances have attracted the attention of many big clubs, including Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, and according to journalist Christian Falk, Liverpool are interested in signing him, but it remains to be seen whether they will make a move for him next summer.
With Mohamed Salah out of contract in 2025, Liverpool need to supplement his goalscoring ability and creativity and the 21-year-old Germany international could be an ideal replacement, despite not being stylistically similar to the Egyptian.

Florian Wirtz could transform Liverpool
Although versatile enough to play in wide areas, Wirtz is primarily an attacking midfielder who prefers to operate in the space behind the striker and is an expert not only at scoring goals but also at creating chances for teammates with his passing and vision at the back line.
He has all the ingredients to develop into a world-class player and Liverpool could have a future star if they get the deal done, but he is likely to be an expensive addition and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool are willing to pay a huge transfer fee for him.
The 21-year-old has proven himself in Germany and may now be tempted by the idea of trying his hand at English football.
