No one can ignore this Miami team.
For the second straight week, No. 8 Miami overcame a slow, error-filled start and rallied for an unexpected victory.
This time, it seemed impossible, as the Hurricanes came back from a 25-point deficit to defeat Cal State 39-38 in a late-night ACC thriller in Berkeley, California.
For Cal Football, which hosted ESPN’s “College Game Day” on campus for the first time, it spoiled an otherwise fun and memorable day.
And when the Bears dominated the top-10 team and at one point looked like they were leading 35-10 late in the third quarter, the sold-out crowd went wild.
Instead, Miami improved to 6-0 with another improbable victory.
Miami quarterback Cam Ward threw the winning 5-yard touchdown pass to Elijah Arroyo with 26 seconds left.
It was the end of another big day for Ward. Ward added to his Heisman resume by passing for 437 yards and two touchdowns to one interception. He also ran for points.
