“This is the calm before the storm.”
Jordan Susanto, 26, described his feelings in an interview on August 19:
His debut studio album, Jordan, was released just five days ago, and one of the album’s tracks, “Senopati in the Rain,” is already gaining popularity on streaming services — no small feat for a soul record from a young Indonesian artist.
Lyrically light-hearted and musically solid, Jordan is a soul-pop album that tells the story of a romantic player experiencing love for the first time. Sonically, it’s an album that bridges past heritage with modern sensibilities, and it’s proof that musicians don’t have to take life too seriously to make an emotionally compelling record.

Interestingly, Jordan didn’t always dream of becoming a professional musician as a child – it was the world of filmmaking that first attracted him, but he noticed a gradual change happening within his younger self at an early age.
“As time went on, I found myself paying more attention to the film soundtracks than the films themselves,” he recalled with a laugh.
