Bala Murad, a mother and family counsellor, is grateful to Sharjah authorities for launching the UAE’s first Quranic TV channel, so her children can now better study the holy scriptures.
“I require my children to listen to the Quran for a certain period of time before watching their favourite programmes,” Murad told Khaleej Times.
“When we introduced the Sharjah Quran TV channel, we noticed that the quiet background allowed them to concentrate on the Quranic recitation without any distractions,” said a resident who has been watching the channel since it was launched on Friday (August 16).
The broadcast can be viewed on Etisalat E-life devices on channel 579. It will also be available on the Marasi app.

“I would like to thank His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, for this initiative and everyone involved,” said Murad. Murad has made it a habit to incorporate the Quranic program into his daily life, which has helped him better memorize Quranic verses.
Available 24 hours a day, the new channel will offer viewers a variety of programming including Quranic recitations, scientific guides to the Quran and Quranic teachings.
Fahad Saeed, also from Sharjah, described the channel, which has shows supporting regular recitation of the Quran and providing in-depth commentary on its verses, as a “cornerstone” of content that promotes Islamic values.
He said the book would be a valuable resource for new Muslims and those interested in learning about Islam, making it an integral part of their everyday lives.
He added that the channel would promote values such as tolerance and peace and “play a key role in spreading a culture of justice, kindness and social solidarity, thereby building a cohesive community based on religious and ethical principles.”
“It has value in today’s world.”
Abdullah Khalfan Al Baloushi, who works at Ras Al Khaimah Radio, hailed the initiative as a “pivotal” move in today’s world.
“Creating a TV channel dedicated to meaningful and inspiring religious content is a very important step at a time when people are looking for content that enhances spiritual values and deepens their religious understanding,” he told Khaleej Times.
Programmes such as Quranic recitation and Quranic science will better help the present and future generations under the Holy Book.
“This initiative will greatly contribute to spreading correct religious awareness and promoting communication among various communities around the world through the common language of the Holy Quran,” he added.
Amena Abdullah, another Sharjah resident, said the channel not only inspires but also has a positive impact on everyday life by promoting peace and security.
“Establishing a dedicated religious media platform is a laudable and beneficial step,” Abdullah said.
